Geodetic Astronomy is an engrossing area of study and was a significant part of my undergrad studies in the late ’00s. This National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) pdf gives a good, visual overview of what Geodetic Astronomy entails.

History, Politics, and Economics
Today was my first book club meeting with a group that reads books about history, politics, and economics. What a stimulating, thoroughly enjoyable discussion with a group that was a cross-section of age, gender, and race. This is the group for me. Below was this month’s reading.
Color Perception
Working in geospatial technologies, color discrimination plays a key role in the cartographic (mapmaking) aspect of my career. For published maps, understanding the differences in what people can perceive visually is important. For example, it is fairly common for men to have hues of color that they have difficulty distinguishing between, such as between blues and greens. I found this video fascinating for learning more about the role that color plays in the survival of birds and bird species. #colorgeek #birdlover #savoringNature

Greeting the Day
I am happiest when I greet the day by asking myself one or more of the following questions:
- What can I savor or enjoy today?
- Who might play and delight in life with me?
- Where outdoors would I like to explore?
- How would I like to express myself today?
- What would I like to put my hands on?
- What skills would I like to hone?
- Who do I get to collaborate with today?
- What working of things would I like to understand?
- Who can I love, appreciate, and be curious about?
- Who might love, appreciate, and be curious about me?
- How would I like to rest and relax?
How do you greet the day?
